New York module · $499
NY · Pilot state

The New York module, the fourth state beyond California, after Texas, Illinois, and Louisiana.

New York is the fourth concrete state instantiated from the shared UBE template — the same shape California, Texas, Illinois, and Louisiana shipped with, plus the New York gates (MPRE, NYLC, NYLE) and the New York doctrine the MEE graders weight. The MBE bank, MEE outlines, MPT workspace, and study-guide library are written; the pacing is wired against the Feb 2027 administration.

The single-state purchase matches California, Florida, Texas, Illinois, and Louisiana at $499 one-time — a deliberate parity that keeps the per-state cost obvious while the UBE bundle rolls out one state at a time.

New York module · FAQ

The four questions New York candidates ask us.

These are the questions candidates ask before purchase — how the module differs from a generic UBE prep, when the next administration is, the transfer rule, and what the $499 covers.

How does the New York module differ from a generic UBE prep?

The MBE bank, MEE fact patterns, and MPT scaffolds are a single shared UBE catalogue — what the New York module adds is the NY-specific overlay: the three New York gates (MPRE, NYLC, and NYLE) and the New York doctrine the MEE graders are reading for (EPTL/SCPA framing in Wills, DRL/DMA in Family Law, BCL citation in Corporations). The module ships those overlays inline, plus a character & fitness disclosure guide and the transfer-window playbook for an out-of-state UBE.

When is the next NY UBE administration?

The Feb 2027 NY UBE is administered on the last Tuesday of February (2027-02-23). The NY Board of Law Examiners posts the application window about four months ahead and the late-filing fees climb sharply thereafter. The July 2027 cycle follows the same pattern on the last Tuesday of July.

Can I transfer a UBE score into New York?

Yes — New York accepts a transferred UBE score of 266 or higher earned in another UBE jurisdiction within the prior three years. (Rule 520.9, Court of Appeals.) A transfer candidate still must sit for the NYLE within the same three-year window and complete character & fitness review under 22 NYCRR 520.12 before admission. The MPRE (scaled ≥ 85, certified by the NCBE) is a separate pre-admission requirement under 22 NYCRR 520.9 and must be on file even for transfer candidates.

What does the $499 access pass include?

The MBE bank, the MEE outlines (with NY overlay), the MPT workspace, the full study-guide library (MPRE flags inline on every Professional Responsibility outline), the 90-day paced calendar, and AI-graded essay submissions against the MEE rubric. One purchase, no subscription, no second SKU — the $499 access pass unlocks the New York bundle end-to-end.

Does New York require the MPRE?

Yes. The Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE) is a separate pre-admission requirement under 22 NYCRR 520.9 — a scaled score of 85 or higher (NCBE-certified) must be on file before admission, independent of the UBE score and the NYLE. There is no New York-specific waiver; candidates should sit for the MPRE early, well ahead of the NYLE window, so the score is on file at the BLE.

How do NYLC and NYLE fit into the sequencing?

UBE → MPRE (scaled ≥ 85) → NYLC pass → NYLE sit → Character & Fitness review under 22 NYCRR 520.12 → admission. The NYLC is roughly 15 hours of online pre-admission work and must be passed before the NYLE window opens. The NYLE is a 50-question multiple-choice exam on New York-specific doctrine and cycles monthly after a candidate’s UBE score returns — finishing NYLC three weeks ahead of the NYLE window, not the day before, is the timing the module’s 90-day calendar enforces.
